Hannah Hankins served for more than five years in the Obama White House Communications Department, most recently as the Communications Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the Domestic Policy Council. In this role, she planned high-profile Administration announcements to achieve strategic communications priorities and managed crisis response on issues including education, labor, public health and criminal justice. This included spearheading communications for the Council of Women and Girl's United State of Women; the White House Worker Voice Summit; and the once-in-a-decade White House Conference on Aging. Previously, she traveled around the world with the President on Air Force One, facilitating media coverage opportunities and managing relations between the White House and the national press corps. Prior to the White House, Hannah worked for Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
Hannah is from rural western Minnesota and graduated from American University in Washington, DC, with a degree in public communications.
